Six challengers await Chelsea in UEFA Conference League

Following Friday's draw in Monaco, Chelsea learned which six teams it will face in the league phase of this season's UEFA Conference League.

Chelsea has been drawn into Group A of the UEFA Conference League, a new competition that began this season.

Chelsea, the competition's highest-ranked team, was assigned to Pot 1 for the draw. They will play each team once, whether at home or away. The top eight teams from the group stage will advance to the last 16.

According to a statement posted on the club's website on Friday, Chelsea will face Gent (home), Heidenheim (away), Astana (away), Shamrock Rovers (home), Panathinaikos (away), and Noah (home) in our first Conference League season.

"We qualified for the league phase last night after a 3-2 aggregate win over Swiss side Servette in the qualifying play-off round, thanks to penalties in both legs by Christopher Nkunku and a Noni Madueke goal at Stamford Bridge.

"As the competition's highest ranked team by UEFA coefficient, Chelsea were placed in Pot 1 for the league phase draw, which was recently introduced as part of the changes for this season's revamped competition.

"We will play one team from each of the six pots once, whether at home or away. The top eight of the 36 teams advance directly to the last 16, while another 16 teams compete in the play-offs to join them.

Chelsea's six fixtures will be confirmed tomorrow, with ticket information to follow.
