Serie A defender Dorgu considers playing for either Nigeria or Denmark due to his African roots

Lecce's left-back, Patrick Dorgu, delves into the potential of representing Nigeria, the birthplace of his parents, at the senior level. Possessing dual eligibility, he weighs the option of playing for Denmark, his country of birth, or embracing his Nigerian roots.

Dorgu is currently provisionally cap-tied to Denmark, having debuted for their youth team in a competitive match against Georgia during a European U19 Championship qualifier in September 2022. While he dreams of featuring for Denmark in the European Championship in Germany, he remains contemplative about his international future. In an interview with Bold, he expressed his aspirations, stating, "I haven’t thought about that. Everyone dreams of being able to represent their country. I was born in Denmark and have African roots, and right now I haven’t thought about having to make a choice. I just play football and let it come with time."
