Kane expresses delight over Dier's move to Bayern
Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane expressed his joy at being reunited with former Tottenham teammate Eric Dier, who recently joined the German club. Following his goal – the 22nd league strike of the season in 16 games – in Bayern's 3-0 victory over Hoffenheim, Kane pledged to assist Dier in settling into his new team.
"I've had a longstanding connection with Eric, played alongside him for quite some time, and I am well aware of the significant impact he can make for our team," stated Kane.
"He's clearly thrilled and excited, and we're delighted to welcome him," remarked Kane.
Eric Dier, aged 29, signed with the German champions until the summer, with reports suggesting the club holds an option for a one-year extension. While he was not included in the match-day squad for Friday's game, Dier observed from the stands.
Reflecting on the move, Kane, who himself made a successful transition to Bayern in August, expressed hope that Dier would quickly integrate into the team. "He's a good guy, and I'm confident he'll focus on contributing to the team."
Despite not featuring in the match, Kane shared insights into his own adjustment to life in Munich, mentioning that he and his family have moved from a hotel to a villa on the city's outskirts. He expressed optimism about establishing a comforting routine, emphasizing the desire to make Munich their home.
Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel anticipates that Dier will be part of the team in the upcoming match against Werder Bremen at home on January 21.
"Considering his personality, professionalism, character, and experience, he will be a valuable addition to our defense," commented Tuchel.
