Everton plot January Chukwueze raid

Everton are looking to bolster their attacking options by signing AC Milan winger Samuel Chukwueze in January, according to PUNCH Sports.

The Merseyside club, which is currently 16th in the Premier League table, is looking to strengthen their squad in the upcoming transfer window to avoid another relegation battle.

According to sources close to the club, Chukwueze, who has previously been linked with Everton, is a top target for manager Sean Dyche.

This season, the 25-year-old has struggled for regular playing time at AC Milan under new coach Paolo Fonseca, with six of his eight appearances in all competitions coming from the bench.

This limited playing time has fueled speculation about his future at the San Siro, despite recently ending an eight-game goal drought with a match-winning strike against Udinese on Saturday.

Chukwueze joined Milan from Villarreal in the summer of 2023 for a reported €20 million plus bonuses, becoming the club's most expensive signing during that transfer window. However, the winger has struggled to replicate the form that made him a standout performer in La Liga, scoring only four goals in 41 appearances for the Rossoneri.

Everton's interest in the Nigeria international comes during a period of significant change for the club. The Friedkin Group, which has experience with Italian football through their ownership of AS Roma, is in the process of acquiring Farhad Moshiri's 94.1% stake in Everton. This impending takeover could provide the financial backing required to sign high-profile players like Chukwueze.

Dyche is reportedly looking for a right-winger to improve his team's attacking options, with Chukwueze and Santiago Castro both on the club's shortlist.

Chukwueze's potential move to Everton could provide him with a fresh start and the opportunity to play regularly in the Premier League. It would also be a significant statement of intent from Everton's potential new owners, who want to see the club move away from relegation battles and establish itself as a competitive force in the top flight.

Chukwueze has also been linked with moves to Premier League clubs such as West Ham and Aston Villa, as well as Spanish giants Atletico Madrid. According to recent Italian reports, Saudi Pro League clubs are also interested in the Nigerian winger, indicating the wide range of options he may have.
