Approximately a hundred supporters from Galatasaray and Bayern Munich engaged in a brawl in Istanbul's bar district prior to their scheduled Champions League match tonight.
This incident occurred hours before the UEFA Champions League group stage game between Bayern Munich and Galatasaray at RAMS Park in Istanbul, Turkey, with a kick-off time of 5:45 p.m. on October 24, 2023.
Before the clash, reports indicate that four German and one Turkish fan sustained minor injuries, as per Turkish media. However, no charges have been filed against the instigators. In the Beyoglu neighborhood of Istanbul, spectators were observed throwing chairs and other small objects down the main street, captured by street cameras.
The disturbance in the tourist area, known for bars frequented by Galatasaray supporters, began when fans gathered near one of the team's retail stores. According to the IHA news agency, the altercation involved 70 German and Turkish fans. As of the time of this report, the German consulate in Istanbul has not issued a response to the incident.
