Chelsea still keen on Osimhen

Chelsea have not given up on Victor Osimhen, despite the Nigerian striker's loan move to Galatasaray being completed on Tuesday.

According to football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the London club remains interested in the 25-year-old and is willing to resume talks in the future.

Chelsea attempted to sign Osimhen in the final hours of the summer transfer window, but their offer was significantly lower than the Nigerian's asking price.

"Osimhen's reputation among top clubs in Europe remains strong. Galatasaray will cover his salary, so for Napoli, this loan is a good option, but several clubs, particularly Chelsea, remain interested," Romano said.

"In the final hour of the summer transfer window, Chelsea attempted to make a move. The appreciation continues. Let us see what happens with this option. But one thing is certain: they continue to value Osimhen as a player," Romano added.

Osimhen, who scored 26 goals and was named the league's top scorer in Napoli's penultimate season, has become one of Europe's most sought-after forwards.

His performances with the Azzurri over the last three seasons have piqued the interest of top European clubs such as Chelsea, Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, and Liverpool.

After a lengthy transfer saga, Osimhen joined Galatasaray and became the sixth Nigerian to wear the Cimbom jersey.

His arrival in Turkey was met with jubilation, with thousands of Galatasaray fans gathering at Istanbul Airport despite his late-night arrival.

Osimhen's loan move to Galatasaray, which includes a break clause in January, has allowed Chelsea and other interested clubs to closely monitor his performance in Turkey.

The Turkish side will cover a large portion of his €10 million salary, reportedly paying €8.8 million.

With the striker set to make his Galatasaray debut after the international break on September 15 against Rizespor, all eyes will be on him to demonstrate how well he has adapted to his new surroundings and whether his time in Turkey will reignite interest from Chelsea and other top European clubs ahead of the next transfer window.
