Deliver Kaduna to PDP, Wike urges ex-gov Markafi

Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has advised Ahmed Makarfi, a former governor of Kaduna State, to ensure the Peoples Democratic Party wins all elections in his state.

Wike said it was better for Makarfi, the former PDP national acting chairman, to focus on the 2023 general election and how he will ensure the PDP’s victory in Kaduna State rather than saying strange things about him.

Wike spoke at the inauguration of the sand-filled area and estate layout in Ogbum-Nu-Abali, Port Harcourt, performed by Enugu State governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi on Tuesday.

“This morning, while watching Channels, I saw former PDP national acting chairman Makarfi, who said he is very close to me.” I’m not sure how close he is to me.

“I don’t remember the last time I spoke with someone close to me.” For the past five months, I haven’t spoken to him.

“So, if you’re politically close to someone, there’s no way you won’t have spoken to them in five months.” Isn’t it?

“‘Wike, you’re sabotaging other people,’ he said. I’m not sure who says the other people haven’t.

“What I want to tell Makarfi is that he has a job: to ensure that the PDP wins in Kaduna State.” That is your responsibility; leave Wike alone.

“Take it upon yourself to ensure that Kaduna falls to the PDP.” I don’t want to hear excuses about how they rigged or didn’t rig the election.

“That’s what I told everyone. Make sure the PDP wins in Kano. Make sure the PDP wins in Niger, and the PDP wins in Jigawa. If you win, we’ll see whether or not PDP wins here. Its mission is to deliver your state. Don’t use anyone’s state to calculate.”

Governor Wike also urged Rivers politicians who enjoy joining the company of politicians from other states in welcoming their defectors into the PDP to return home and work to increase the party’s numerical strength in Rivers State.

According to him, the best way to demonstrate the party’s capacity to deliver votes is to deliver votes from polling units, wards, and the state.

“It’s not to go to Abuja and start gossiping and saying all kinds of things,” he explained. Come home and mobilize; show us your capabilities.

“It’s operation deliver your ward, operation delivers your poling units, operation deliver your local government.” That is the essence of politics.”

Governor Wike spoke about the project, saying that his administration has created a new city within the State capital out of a swampy mangrove that was once a hideout for criminals and kidnappers.

Governor Wike recalled that, despite the fact that the people of Ogbum-Nu-Abali fought the project and one of them took the government to court, they are now pleased with how the area has been transformed.

“We built a new city for people to live in, complete with water, electricity, sewage, and everything else.” If allocated, this location can accommodate at least 160 families.”

During the project’s inauguration, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State expressed delight at being invited for the third time to inaugurate a project provided by Governor Wike for the people of Rivers.

The governor of Enugu State described Governor Wike as an intense leader who leads from the front, and he was known for his legendary knack for project execution and unrelenting crusade for Rivers State’s fundamental liberties as well as economic interests.
