Controversy Trail Sharing Of FG’s Palliative In Kogi As Items Have Allegedly Been Rebranded With APC

Controversy surrounds the distribution of federal government palliatives in Kogi State, with allegations that the items were rebranded with the APC logo. An unsigned statement reportedly directed the APC state chairman and the Commissioner for Local Government Affairs to oversee the distribution.

The items were said to bear the APC logo and the image of the party's governorship candidate. They were also reportedly kept locked away while the people suffered.

Civil society group, The Electorate Platform, accused the government of playing politics with the palliatives, calling it insensitive and questioning the restriction of distribution to APC members.

Another group, The Likeminds, criticized the alleged politicization of the palliatives and called for a different approach to politics.

The Kogi State government denied the allegations, stating that the palliatives were intended for all citizens and would be distributed fairly, irrespective of political affiliations. The government emphasized its commitment to providing relief in the face of fuel subsidy removal.
