Adebayo: Nigerians Suffering from Choosing Tinubu in Presidential Yacht
The 2023 presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Prince Adewole Adebayo, has expressed that Nigerians are facing the repercussions of choosing President Bola Tinubu, as evident in the controversy surrounding the 2023 Supplementary Budget.
According to Naija News, the Federal Government plans to allocate N2.6 billion for utility vehicles at the Presidential Villa and an additional N6.2 billion for cars in the State House pool in the supplementary budget.
Furthermore, the government intends to spend N5 billion on new cars for the Office of the First Lady and N5.5 billion to acquire a Presidential Yacht, to be managed by the Nigerian Navy.
In an interview with Daily Trust on Sunday, Adebayo advised Nigerians to accept the opulent lifestyles of Tinubu and other political leaders since they voted for them.
Adebayo emphasized that Nigeria's challenge is not a lack of funds but a leadership issue, urging people to recognize that a politician's campaign style reflects their governing intentions.
He remarked, "I have reiterated that votes have consequences. Choosing emperors leads to imperial budgets. Did their extravagant campaign not indicate their governance approach for people struggling to eat once or twice a day? We must decide the type of government we want, as this imperial system is unsustainable for the economic and livelihood realities of Nigerians."
