Soludo gives N2m to Anambra couple with quintuplets

Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, the governor of Anambra State, said he had approved N2 million for the couple who gave birth to a set of quintuplets in Awka.

Ify Obinabo, the state's Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, revealed this in her office on Monday.

Mr and Mrs Tochukwu Amaechi, who live in Onitsha, delivered a set of quintuplets at Life International Hospital in Awka, according to Obinabo.

She went on to say that the money being processed by the ministry was a gift for the well-being of the quintuplets, three males and two females, who were born on March 29, 2023.

She stated that the assistance would be sent to the family as soon as the ministry completed its processing.

Chidinma Amaechi, the mother, spoke to The PUNCH about her journey to the delivery of her quintuplets, as well as the mixed emotions and challenges that followed.

She described how she prayed for twins but received five babies instead.

"After nine years of waiting for children, I began praying to God for twins or miracle babies to shock the world after the long wait, but I did not expect them to be up to five."

"In all of this, I still give God the glory because He alone can do it," she says. "It is not easy to cater to five children at the same time, but we are looking to God and good-hearted people to come to our rescue."
