Adeleke appoints 11 man transport disciplinary committee

Senator Ademola Adeleke, Governor of Osun State, has appointed an 11-member Disciplinary Committee to oversee the state's public transportation system, which is divided into vehicle and cycle sectors.

According to a statement obtained in Osogbo on Monday by the governor's spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the vehicle sector will be led by Nurudeen Oluronbi, while the cycle sector will be led by Sikiru Oyeniyi.

It went on to say that the Disciplinary Committee would include representatives from the Commissioner for Works and Transport, the Commissioner for Finance, and the Osun Internal Revenue Service, among others.

The new transportation management model was described in the statement as a "fulfillment of Adeleke's earlier promise to sanitize the current park system and ensure commuters enjoy a new lease on safe and secure transportation."

"It is a one-ticketing system approach across the state and it will create thousands of temporary jobs in Osun State. The new policy will increase our revenue-generating capacity and contribute to the improvement of our economy.

"In addition, this new system will eradicate the insecurity, destruction of properties and killings experienced by commuters when rival union groups attack each other. Moving forward, no one should be caught fighting or causing unrest in our parks or on our roads," the statement continued.
