Telegram rolls out new features, expands AI-powered sticker search

Telegram has updated its messaging platform with new features such as sticker search, video sharing, and bot discovery.

The updates come as the company, which became profitable last year, continues to add new features.

One of the most significant improvements is an update to Telegram's AI-powered sticker search. The feature, which was first introduced in December with a library of 40,000 stickers, now allows users to search millions of stickers using natural language.

Telegram has also improved the user experience for video sharing. Users can now share video links with exact timestamps, similar to YouTube, making it easier to find specific moments. The update also allows users to choose a custom frame for a video's cover photo and edit it with text, stickers, or emoji. Another enhancement is saved progress for videos, which allows users to resume playback from where they left off.

In an effort to improve bot discovery, Telegram is introducing a "Similar Bots" tab on bot profiles, similar to its feature that suggests related channels. This update aims to make it easier for users to discover useful bot services.

While Telegram remains a hub for legitimate content creators, it has also encountered issues with pirated content. Last year, the company removed 15 million groups and channels, though not all of them were linked to piracy.
