Nigerian Naira Slides to N900 Against US Dollar on Parallel Market

A Bureau De Change Operator, Ahmed Gazali, reportedly informed Daily Post on Thursday morning that Nigeria's currency, the Naira, has once again weakened, reaching the value of N900 against the US Dollar on the parallel market. This update follows the exchange rate of the preceding day, Wednesday, August 23, 2023.


Reportedly, the Naira was traded at N773.42 in the official market in comparison to the Dollar. This reflects a slight decline of 0.35% when compared to the Naira's rate of N770.72 against the Dollar on Tuesday.


This occurrence arises within a mere 48 hours after the return of the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Olawale Edun.


In a previous report by Naija News, it was stated that at the Lagos Parallel Market (Black Market), the exchange rate for a dollar to Naira stood at N885 for buying and N890 for selling on August 23, 2023.
