NUPRC set to amend domestic crude supply regulations
The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission plans to alter the Domestic Crude Supply Obligations Regulations 2023.The commission announced this in a document signed by the NUPRC's Chief Executive, Gbenga Komolafe, on Thursday.
According to the NUPRC, the National Data Repository Regulations will also be examined.
In the notification, the commission stated that it wished to interact with stakeholders for feedback.
"In accordance with Section 216 (1) of the PIA 2021, which requires the commission to consult with stakeholders before finalising or amending regulations, the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission hereby invites input from lessees, licensees, permit holders, host communities, and other stakeholders in the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum sector within 21 days of the date of this publication."
"The matters to which this stakeholder's inputs and consultations relate are National Data Repository Regulations; Amendment to the Production Curtailment and Domestic Crude Oil Supply Obligations Regulations 2023," the notice was partially translated.
It requested that stakeholders download and evaluate the proposed regulations at https://www.nuprc.gov.ng/regulations-development-pia-2021/.
"Accordingly, submissions of inputs to the regulations are requested as part of the process of stakeholder's consultation before finalisation of the regulations, to give meaning to the intent of the PIA 2021," the NUPRC said in its statement.
It requested that all submissions be made in the format accessible via a link on its website and sent no later than 21 days from the date of publication of this notice.
"Kindly forward your submissions to the Head Regulations and Statutory Compliance Unit of NUPRC, Kingston Chikwendu, at regeon@nuprc.gov.ng," the statement's conclusion said.
This comes as claimed noncompliance by crude producers with current DCSO requirements.
