Tragic Incident: Edo Man Fatally Attacks Pregnant Wife, Father-in-Law Offers Reward for Suspect

Father of the Deceased Offers N100,000 Reward for Information on Son-in-law's Whereabouts

Samuel Adun, a grieving father, has made a heartfelt plea for justice by offering a reward of N100,000 to anyone who can provide crucial information leading to the arrest of his son-in-law, identified as Inuaghata. Inuaghata stands accused of the tragic murder of his pregnant wife, Osaretin. The family seeks closure and the apprehension of the suspect to ensure that justice is served.

Adun, speaking to reporters in Benin, disclosed on Friday that his late daughter had three children with the accused.

He recounted receiving the devastating news of his daughter's untimely demise at the hands of her husband. Adun further revealed that Inuaghata has been in hiding since the incident occurred on May 24. The family anxiously awaits justice while hoping for the swift capture of the suspect.

Expressing his grief, he shared, "I come from Orhionmwon Local Government Area. My daughter, aged 23, was tragically killed by her husband. The incident occurred on May 24 in Egba."

"I cannot comprehend the reasons behind the dispute that resulted in the murder of my daughter. I received a distressing call informing me of her untimely demise. She was brutally attacked with a knife, her throat was slit. It is heart-wrenching to know that she was pregnant at the time of her death. I fervently urge the authorities to swiftly apprehend the perpetrator."

"I am offering a reward of N100,000 to anyone who can provide information that leads to the arrest of the suspect. It is important to note that the young man had not legally married my daughter. Sadly, both his parents are deceased. I have contacted his brother, who informed me that he has fled following the tragic incident of my daughter's murder."

According to Chidi Nwabuzor, the Edo State Police Public Relations Officer, the matter has not been reported or brought to his attention as of now.
