Tragic Incident in Adamawa: Man Fatally Beats and Beheads His Own Brother

The Adamawa State Police Command has apprehended Amos Christopher, a man afflicted with epilepsy, for the alleged murder of his four-year-old brother, Thyson. The incident took place on June 19, 2023, in one of the apartments in their home located in Dobi village, Ga'anda District, Gombi Local Government Area.

According to a statement released by SP Suleiman Nguroje, the spokesperson for the Adamawa State Police, Amos reportedly strangled his younger brother and subsequently decapitated him, using a hoe to dismember his body.

Family members have stated that Amos, who is 24 years old, suffers from epilepsy and carried out this gruesome act when his health condition worsened.

Christopher Haruna, the father of the accused, attributed the tragic incident to his son's deteriorating health. He stated, "On June 18, 2023, a day prior to the incident, Amos had a seizure and collapsed. However, his health condition worsened, and the next morning, his behavior drastically changed. He violently assaulted his mother and younger brothers, who were present at home."

Elaborating on the sequence of events, Christopher revealed that Amos subsequently targeted his lone brother, subjecting him to a brutal and fatal attack.
