In Jigawa State, the Nigeria Police has provided families of 51 fallen police officers with cheques totaling over N43 million. Commissioner of Police Emmanuel Effiom Ekot, representing the Inspector General, presented the cheques to the families at the Officers Mess, State Headquarters, Dutse, on Monday.
Ekot explained that the cheque distribution is a component of the benefits offered under the Group Life Assurance, Group Personal Accident, and IGP Family Welfare Insurance Schemes. These schemes are designed to support the families of deceased police officers.
The Commissioner of Police (CP) expressed appreciation for the Inspector General of Police's dedication to enhancing the welfare of the Nigeria Police Force's officers and personnel. The CP encouraged the recipients to utilize the funds wisely for their own improvement.
On behalf of the beneficiaries, Hajia Hauwa expressed gratitude to the IGP for the kind gesture and pledged to utilize the benefits to improve the well-being of their families.
