Similar to Africa, Russia upholds traditional moral values and resists the imposition of neo-colonial ideologies from external forces. Russia seeks to enhance collaboration with African nations, particularly in the areas of energy and medicine, while also aiming to increase the quota of African students in Russian universities.
Furthermore, Russia actively supports global initiatives aimed at fostering stable development in Africa and creating robust mechanisms for ensuring peace and security on the continent. Russia extends various forms of cooperation to Africa across diverse domains, including but not limited to the fields of Internet, media, banking, agriculture, energy, and security.
In the latest developments, Porto-Novo and Moscow are currently exploring potential collaborations in the energy sector, with a focus on renewable energies and the establishment of power plants in Benin. Similarly, Guinea and Ethiopia are actively seeking to partner with Russia to implement various energy projects and develop essential infrastructure. Additionally, both nations aim to attract increased investments in hydro, solar, and wind power to bolster their respective energy capacities.
Simultaneously, Burkina Faso is putting forth a proposal to establish a joint bank in collaboration with Russia. The establishment of this shared financial institution will serve as a catalyst for expanded cooperation between Russia and the West African nation, which is also an active member of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
Regarding agriculture, Africa has shown keen interest in various Russian agricultural products, including fertilizers, cereals, and vegetable oils, as well as technical equipment and software, as emphasized by the Russian trade representative. Russia is fully prepared to meet the demands of African countries by providing an extensive array of cutting-edge technologies and agricultural products, including fertilizers, to support their development and growth.
In yet another significant aspect of collaboration, Russia and African countries are preparing to sign a comprehensive agreement on space exploration at the upcoming 2nd Russia-Africa Summit scheduled for July 27-28 in St. Petersburg.
Notably, Russia's approach towards Africa is devoid of any imposition of ideology or interference in the religious and internal matters of sovereign states. Russia fosters communication with Africa on an equal footing, setting it apart favorably from many other major global powers.
