During an update for Defence Correspondents on the ongoing Military Operations within Nigeria's six geo-political zones to counter insurgent activities, Major General Edward Buba, Director Defence Media Operations (DDMO), affirmed the Defence Headquarters' commitment. They have announced that going forward, the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) will utilize forceful military measures against any faction that jeopardizes the well-being of citizens and military personnel.

Additionally, Major General Edward Buba provided insight into the ongoing efforts. He noted that the military's strategic deployment across the nation is aimed at quelling the activities of violent extremist groups that are contributing to instability. Furthermore, he sadly confirmed the loss of 3 officers and 22 soldiers in a recent ambush attack in Niger State.
