Ondo State Deputy Governor Denies Assaulting His Wife

Ondo Deputy Governor Refutes Claims of Domestic Violence Against His Wife

Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the Deputy Governor of Ondo State, has firmly denied the accusation that he engaged in the repeated physical abuse of his wife, Mrs. Oluwaseun. The Society for Women Empowerment, a group concerned with gender issues, alleged that Aiyedatiwa had assaulted his wife on two occasions within a span of four months, stating that such behavior contradicted the responsibilities associated with his position.

Deputy Governor Denies Domestic Abuse Allegations, Labels Women's Group Faceless

In response to the allegations, the deputy governor released a statement through his media aide, Mr. Kenneth Odusola, vehemently denying ever resorting to physical violence against his wife throughout their marriage.

Aiyedatiwa dismissed the women's group as faceless and declared the media reports regarding domestic abuse and assault to be unfounded and utterly false.

The statement emphasized that the allegation of domestic abuse was fabricated by individuals with malicious intentions to stir up a crisis in the state. The deputy governor had been aware of these false claims for weeks, and they were not surprising.

While respecting the deputy governor's right to privacy concerning his family matters, it was important to clarify that there had never been any instance of domestic violence between him and his beloved wife, Mrs. Oluwaseun Aiyedatiwa. Currently, Mrs. Aiyedatiwa is residing abroad, having lived and worked in the United Kingdom for many years prior to her husband's involvement in Nigerian politics. Since then, she has been regularly traveling between the United Kingdom and Nigeria to manage their household and care for their children, who are also based in the United Kingdom.

Hence, any reports regarding alleged domestic problems within the family should be regarded as the deliberate actions of individuals seeking to sow discord where none exists. We strongly caution those spreading such false information to cease their actions or be prepared to face the consequences.
