Nine Teenagers Rescued from Cult Initiation in Lagos by Police Intervention
On Thursday, the Lagos State Command of the Nigeria Police Force revealed that it successfully intervened to save nine youngsters from being initiated into a cult.
This significant development was brought to public attention through a social media post by Benjamin Hundeyin, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Lagos Command.
Accompanied by an image of the young boys, Hundeyin disclosed that their rescue operation took place within the Mushin area of the state. He stressed the importance of reinforcing the family structure, particularly in light of this distressing incident. The children, ranging from the youngest at 9 years old to the oldest at 14 years old, were liberated from the clutches of cult initiation.
Hundeyin took to his Twitter account to share this update: "We need to strengthen the family unit. Nine children, youngest 9, and oldest 14, were rescued during/after forced initiation into cultism in the Mushin area of Lagos State.
Signs of their initiation were already evident, as the police spokesperson pointed out that incisions had been made on their bodies. While Hundeyin refrained from divulging more intricate details about the operation, he did mention that investigations were currently underway regarding the incident.
