NNPCL completes depot repairs

According to Nigerianwatch, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has completed the rehabilitation of the pipeline at the Satellites depots area.

NNPCL Pipeline and Marketing, a subsidiary of NNPCL, handled the repairs.

Akin Akinrinade, Chairman of Satellite Depots, told Nigerianwatch that the pipeline had been repaired and is now being used to transport products to its members.

"After 15 months of inactivity, satellite depots began loading around 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

"We now load through the pipeline because the integrity has been restored," he explained, adding that loading products through pipelines would not be a one-time occurrence.

Akinrinade confirmed to Nigerianwatch that his members began receiving products on Friday of last week.

The depot had been rendered inoperable due to pipeline vandalism, which forced NNPCL to halt product deliveries to the facility.

"Although they have instructed depots to sell at N172 per litre, we have not started selling to marketers. Since Friday, we have been receiving products. We received it on Saturday, and some will arrive today as well (Sunday).

"Now that products are being received, prices will begin to fall, and I can assure you that the remaining queue will vanish this week," he promised.
