In Ibere, Abia State, a man known as Yellow was apprehended for allegedly sexually assaulting a 5-year-old girl in a room.

Reports indicate that the 35-year-old man was caught in the act by a mob, and they subjected him to a brutal beating.

Yellow admitted to engaging in inappropriate contact with the minor, confessing that he enticed the girl with groundnuts.

While seeking forgiveness, the suspect claimed that the Devil led him astray to commit this dreadful act.

Yellow asserted that his desires were intensified by the chilling weather from the rain.

According to his account, he was with friends, enjoying groundnuts, and later entered a building to retrieve something. Inside, he allegedly encountered the girl, offering her groundnut seeds, and she followed him in, where the assault occurred.

The suspect maintained that he tried to be gentle during the reprehensible act.

A source informed the Daily Post that the assaulted child was promptly taken to the hospital by her family for urgent medical attention.

The same source disclosed that the 35-year-old assailant was handed over to local security personnel for subsequent transfer to the police, who will conduct a thorough investigation.
