Farida Sobowale, a well-known figure in Lagos social circles and a skincare entrepreneur, reportedly made a suicide attempt on Thursday evening. She drove her Lexus SUV to the Third Mainland Bridge and attempted to jump into the Lagoon, but was saved by passersby.

A video of the incident went viral, showing her in a black flowing gown, being held by those who came to her rescue while she was in tears. After being prevented from her suicide attempt, she was taken to the police station.

This event comes just two months after Farida Sobowale celebrated a lavish wedding that cost millions of naira. She tied the knot with Demola Okulaja, her partner of over two decades. However, rumors have been circulating that the marriage ended recently, causing emotional turmoil for Farida and leading to her suicide attempt.

Previously, Farida Sobowale had been married to Tunde Sobowale, the ex-husband of actress Foluke Daramola. Unfortunately, that marriage also ended in separation. Tunde Sobowale is the son of former Lagos State Commissioner for Education, Professor Idowu Sobowale.
