The Managing Director of Optimal Cancer Care Foundation, Femi Olaleye, has been sentenced to life imprisonment by the Special Offences and Domestic Violence Court in Lagos for sexually assaulting his wife’s niece. The presiding judge, Rahman Oshodi, convicted Olaleye on charges of defilement of a child and sexual assault by penetration. The sentence for both counts is life imprisonment, to run concurrently. Olaleye was accused of sexually violating the minor over a period of 20 months. He was arraigned by the Lagos state government in November 2022 and pleaded not guilty. During the trial, Olaleye's estranged wife testified that he introduced the underage victim to pornography and oral sex, expressing regret for being unaware of the abuse. The court also heard that Olaleye administered medication to his wife, claiming it would prevent blood clots as she neared the age of 50.
