LAUTECH bans students from bringing cars to campus

Wednesday, the administration of Ladoke Akintola University, Ogbomoso in Oyo State prohibited students from driving or bringing cars to campus.

Staff members and students are prohibited from using tinted vehicles, and learners permits must be displayed on the windshields of their vehicles.

The nigerianwatch in Ibadan obtained a copy of a memo issued by the institution's registrar, Kayode Ogunleye, stating that the decision was made at a management meeting on Wednesday.

He stated, "At its regular meeting on March 22, 2023, the University administration discussed the occurrence of traffic on campus and decided as follows:




"Student-owned vehicles are prohibited from entering the university campus. On campus, vehicles without registration numbers are no longer permitted. "Roadside parking of vehicles must cease immediately."

The registrar also stated that unauthorized vehicles parked at various university locations must be removed immediately.

"Any unauthorized vehicles parked at various locations within the university must be removed immediately; otherwise, the university security will take appropriate action."


"The use of tinted vehicles by some faculty and students is hereby prohibited. Learner drivers must display their permits on their vehicles.

"The acting vice chancellor, bursar, university Liberian, provosts and deans, directors, heads of departments/units, and acting head of the security unit were copied on the memo," Ogunleye explained.
