In a recent attack in Kaduna, terrorists abduct 87 individuals
On Sunday night, terrorists carried out a fresh attack on the Kajuru-Station community in Kaduna State, kidnapping 87 individuals. Harisu Dari, a member of the Kajuru-Station Youths, confirmed the incident to our correspondent on Monday in Kaduna.
Harisu reported that the terrorists not only abducted the villagers but also ransacked shops, stealing food items and other valuables. The invasion occurred around 10 pm.
The assault occurred just two days following the abduction of 15 women and a man in the Dogon-Noma community within the same local government area.
Over the past two weeks, Kajuru and Chikun Local Government Areas have witnessed a surge in kidnapping incidents, escalating tensions throughout the state.
Harisu clarified that as of now, there has been no communication established with the 87 locals who were abducted on Sunday night.
When I visited the community this morning, security forces had not yet been deployed to aid in restoring the confidence of the villagers.
"The villagers are deeply distressed by this unfortunate turn of events. The government must reconsider its strategies for combating these terrorists," he remarked.
Within two weeks, the terrorists have kidnapped more than 172 villagers.
When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, did not respond to calls or a text message sent to him by our correspondent at the time of compiling this report.
