Governor Namadi of Jigawa cautions against the misappropriation of fertilizer intended for farmers
During the inauguration of a fertilizer distribution committee at the Government House in Dutse, Jigawa State Governor, Mallam Umar Namadi, strongly emphasized the importance of preventing the diversion of subsidized fertilizer intended for sale to farmers.
The Governor entrusted the committee members with the responsibility of effectively overseeing and monitoring the distribution of the subsidized fertilizer to farmers throughout the state for the upcoming 2023 wet season farming.
The Governor urged the committee members to exhibit heightened commitment and dedication in guaranteeing that the subsidized commodity reaches the intended farmers.
He emphasized the importance of fulfilling their responsibilities with fairness and honesty, cautioning that anyone caught colluding with any group or individual to divert the commodity will face consequences.
The Governor disclosed that the administration has procured 120,000 bags of NPK fertilizer, which will be distributed to the 43 retail stores across the state. The fertilizer will be sold at a price of N16,000 per bag.
He expressed his administration's unwavering determination to provide agricultural inputs to the numerous farmers in Jigawa State.
