FCT Police apprehend sought-after kidnapping kingpin 'Habu Ibrahim

In an ongoing campaign against banditry in the FCT and surrounding areas, operatives of the FCT Police Command, acting on credible intelligence, raided Sardauna Forest, Toto, Nasarawa State, on February 24, 2024, at approximately 7:05 p.m. Subsequently, they apprehended Samaila Wakili Fafa, also known as Habu Ibrahim, a prominent kidnapping kingpin.

The notorious kidnapper has been a long-standing fugitive on the command's wanted list and is the second high-profile abductor for whom the FCT minister, Barr Nyesom Wike, recently offered a bounty of N30 million.

According to a statement by SP Josephine Adeh, PPRO, "The apprehended individual is one of the two kidnappers for whom the Hon Minister FCT placed a bounty. The other, Saidu Abdulkadir, alias Dahiru Adamu, had been previously arrested by the Command.

"He admitted that his syndicate orchestrated and carried out numerous kidnappings in FCT and its surroundings, including the abduction of Barr. Chris Agidy, the legal adviser to Senator Ned Nwoko, and Mr Sunday Yahaya Zakwai, the district head of Ketti Village, who was later killed by them.

"Samaila Wakili guided police operatives to the remains of Barr. Chris Agidy. The remains were recovered and placed in Gwagwalada General Hospital.

"While investigations are ongoing, the Commissioner of Police FCT, CP Benneth Igweh, reaffirms his unwavering commitment to combating crime and ensuring the safety of residents.
