Delta APC youths defect to PDP as Ohanaeze women endorse Atiku/Okowa
Hundreds of APC youths defected to the Peoples Democratic Party in Delta State on Monday, ahead of Saturday's elections.
While receiving the defectors, PDP vice presidential candidate and Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa urged them not to be concerned about the outcome of the elections.
"We welcome you all to the PDP; the party is a big umbrella that can cover everyone," he said.
"Don't worry about the presidential election on Saturday; the PDP will win. Politics is all about numbers, so coming together will be simple.
He assured the youths that no one in the party was being marginalized.
Mr Nick Otunba, former APC Secretary, and Chief Roland Irero, who led the defectors, said the defection proved Delta State belonged to the PDP.
He stated that he was not only pleased to join the PDP, but also pleased to see a mass defection from the APC to the party as a result of the hardships caused by the APC.
They characterized the APC, particularly at the state level, as a one-man show with no regard for the masses.
