People’s Magazine named American actor Chris Evans the sexiest man alive in 2022.

The announcement was made on Monday’s episode of Stephen Colbert’s late-night show.

The magazine’s website also shared images of Evans on the cover of its special issue, which will be available on Friday.

The Captain America actor joins Idris Elba, George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Michael Jordan, Chris Hemsworth, and others who have previously held the title.

Evans will succeed fellow Marvel superhero Paul Rudd, who was crowned with the same title by People in November 2021.

Evans, 41, told People in an interview for the cover story that his mother would be overjoyed, while most of his friends would mock him for the new title.

“My mother will be overjoyed,” he said. “She’s proud of everything I do, but this is something she’s really proud of.”

“Really, this will just be a point of bullying,” he added. It’s prime territory for harassment.”

The Grey Man actor also revealed that as he grew older, he became more conscious of his health and well-being.

“In the good old days, I could eat whatever I wanted, do a couple of workouts per week, and be fine,” he said. That is no longer the case. I wear it if I’ve had two beers.

“I haven’t had to play a Captain America role in a long time, so things like diet and workout routine haven’t been on my radar.” But as you get older, things click and hurt, it’s harder to wake up, and you have less energy.”

He, on the other hand, joked that the title is something he’d like to remember when he’s “old and saggy.”
