After a brief hospital visit, Pope Francis has now returned to the Vatican

On Tuesday, Pope Francis made his return to the Vatican before noon after a brief visit to the Gemelli Clinic for "clinical examinations," as announced by Holy See spokesman Matteo Bruni. Although the Vatican did not disclose details regarding the nature or purpose of the examinations, the pontiff spent a few hours at the clinic.

Local media reports indicate that he was discharged after undergoing pre-planned medical checks, as mentioned. In late March, the leader of the Catholic Church had been hospitalized for a few days due to bronchitis. However, he made a timely recovery and returned to the Vatican in time for the Holy Week and Easter weekend festivities.

In late May, the pope was compelled to cancel scheduled audiences and appointments for a day due to a fever.
