60-year-old woman in Delta killed by unknown gunmen after N1m ransom was paid

Tamigbe Town in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State mourns the abduction and murder of a 60-year-old woman, Ebikabo-ere Oyas Officer, by unknown gunmen, even after a ransom of N1m was paid.

The kidnappers brutally shattered her skull with gunfire, plunging the residents, family, friends, and business associates into deep mourning.

Ebikabo-ere was abducted on Wednesday at around 11 pm, and her family discovered her lifeless body on Sunday.

According to a source, unknown gunmen violently attacked Ebikabo-ere in Tamigbe community, robbing her of all her money before kidnapping her.

The source further revealed that Ebikabo-ere's remains were found between Beautiful Gate and Foutorugbene Road, a nearby area close to her hometown of Tamigbe.

It was disclosed that the victim's family had already paid a ransom of 1 million naira before discovering her lifeless body.

"It's heartbreaking that even after collecting a 1 million naira ransom from the family, the perpetrators still had the audacity to take her life. May the God of vengeance intervene," expressed the source.

The source also mentioned that Ebikabo-ere was a businesswoman, operating the largest provision store in the community. She was a mother of four and the wife of Mr. Oyas Officer.

At the time of reporting, family members were grieving and not ready to comment on the tragic incident.
