Oyo State Radio Prohibits Naira Marley Songs Over Mohbad’s Death

Splash FM 105.5 Ibadan, a radio broadcast station, has suspended the airing of songs by the well-known Nigerian singer and rapper, Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, until further notice. This decision by the radio station follows the controversy surrounding Naira Marley in the wake of the death of Ilerioluwa Oladimeji, also known as MohBad.

MohBad passed away on Tuesday and was laid to rest in Ikorodu, Lagos State, on Wednesday. Shortly after his demise, fans and supporters of the late singer took to social media to accuse Naira Marley and music promoter Sam Larry of being responsible for MohBad's death.

On Monday, the radio station posted a message on social media, where one of its presenters, Aderonke Adesola, announced their decision. According to the post, the station's management has designated Naira Marley's songs as "Not to Be Broadcast" on their radio frequency due to the sensitive nature of MohBad's death and the ongoing police investigation. This action takes immediate effect.
