Alternative Bank contributes to the advancement of rural economic growth in Katsina
The Katsina State Government, led by His Excellency Governor Dikko Radda, has partnered with The Alternative Bank to champion rural economic empowerment. Together, they aim to provide innovative financial solutions that uplift local businesses and foster sustainable development throughout the state.
In a statement, the Bank revealed that the official endorsement signifies a major achievement for The Alternative Bank as it inaugurates its inaugural branch in Katsina, marking a significant step forward in the region.
During the visit, Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State underscored the imperative of combating poverty, especially in rural areas, urging the bank to collaborate with the state government in tackling this issue.
Represented by his Special Adviser on Banking, Malik Anas, the Governor expressed optimism about The Alternative Bank's prospects for success in the region, according to the statement.
He stated, "One of our government's objectives is to promote the prosperity of our citizens, particularly those residing in rural areas. We seek the collaboration of The Alternative Bank in this endeavor. We are prepared to provide the necessary assistance to propel the bank forward and contribute to Nigeria's economic advancement."
Dr. Abdulmumin Usman, the Emir of Katsina, also expressed confidence in the bank's initiatives, paving the way for a fruitful relationship between the financial institution and the esteemed Katsina community.
Hajiya Fatimah Radda, the governor's wife, echoed the state government's backing for the bank and emphasized the importance of including vulnerable groups, such as widows and orphans, in the bank's corporate social responsibility initiatives. She noted, "It has been observed that a significant portion of the population in Katsina's local governments remains unbanked, presenting a substantial untapped opportunity for the bank."
Alhaji Garba Mohammed, the Executive Director of The Alternative Bank, reaffirmed the institution's dedication to providing financial empowerment to all customers, regardless of their social standing. He echoed the bank's commitment to delivering efficient and technology-driven services to facilitate customer and national progress.
Mohammed stated, "The Alternative Bank stands out as a unique financial institution.
