West Ham Putting in Effort to Secure Zaidu Sanusi's Signing

West Ham United is eyeing the signing of Nigerian left-back Zaidu Sanusi in the upcoming January transfer window, with the belief that he could serve as a suitable replacement for veteran defender Aaron Cresswell. The club is preparing for the potential departure of Cresswell, who has been with West Ham since 2014.

Cresswell was close to leaving the club in the last summer transfer window, but Coach David Moyes successfully convinced the 33-year-old defender to stay. Despite bringing in former Chelsea player Emerson, Moyes is reportedly considering Zaidu Sanusi as a more reliable option in the left-back position.

Sanusi, a 26-year-old Nigeria international, joined Porto in 2020 from an undisclosed Portuguese team, and he has since made a significant impact with seven goals in 118 games. He made his international debut for Nigeria in 2020 and has earned 15 caps for the Super Eagles.

According to reports from TEAMtalk, West Ham scouts, including technical director Tim Steidten, have been closely monitoring Sanusi as one of the potential options for the left-back position. The club is said to be working in the background to secure his signature in the upcoming transfer window.

It seems West Ham is strategically planning for the future, and the addition of Zaidu Sanusi could bring strength and reliability to their defensive lineup.
