CAF Awards 2023: Oshoala and Nnadozie Finalists for Women's Player of the Year

Super Falcons duo, Asisat Oshoala and Chiamaka Nnadozie, have secured spots on the final shortlist for the 2023 CAF Women’s Player of the Year. They are joined by eight other players, including Thembi Kgatlana (South Africa), Andile Dlamini (South Africa), Ajara Nchout Njoya (Cameroon), and Hilda Magaia (South Africa). Additionally, the Moroccan trio of Anissa Lahmari, Fatima Tagnaout, Ghizlaine Chebbak, and Zambia’s Barbara Sanda are also in contention for the award.

Oshoala, who clinched the award for the fifth time last year, aims to secure a record-extending seventh crown this year as a standout player for Barcelona Femeni. Meanwhile, Paris FC's goalkeeper, Nnadozie, is a contender for the Goalkeeper of the Year.

In other categories, Esther Ajakaye and Deborah Abiodun are finalists for Women’s Young Player of the Year. The Super Falcons are vying for the Team of the Year, and Randy Waldrum is nominated for Coach of the Year.

The Awards Gala is scheduled for Monday, December 11, 2023, at the Palais des Congrès, Movenpick, Marrakech, Morocco.
