Woman's Face Battered in Alleged Domestic Assault In Warri, Delta State
In Warri, Delta State, a woman named Omoefe Sodje is recovering from severe injuries to her face and a black eye, inflicted by her husband during a violent altercation. Following the assault, she was promptly hospitalized. Human rights advocate Harrison Gwamnishu received distressing photographs of her injuries while she was in the hospital and shared these images on his social media platforms this Tuesday. The photos depicted blood streaming down her face, with others showing dried blood mixed with sand on her skin. In another image, she was seen with her hand wrapped in bandages, indicating she had received medical attention.
Gwamnishu posted these pictures on his social media account, accompanied by a message: "This evening, a woman named Omoefe Sodje sent me these pictures from her hospital bed. It is distressing that a fellow from Delta State used his hands to inflict such harm on her in Warri. She is reaching out to us for assistance in seeking justice."
In an unrelated and equally tragic incident, a 38-year-old mother of three lost her life at the hands of her husband due to suspicions of infidelity. The husband, identified as Olatunji Sobola, confessed to the police that he committed this heinous act after discovering suspicious text messages on his wife's phone. The incident took place in Remo North Local Government Area, and the confrontation between the couple escalated from a heated argument to a fatal tragedy.
Confirming the tragic occurrence, Ogun State Police Spokesman Abimbola Oyeyemi stated, "Sobola confronted his late wife regarding his suspicions, resulting in a violent altercation that ultimately led to the death of the 38-year-old mother of three.
