SubsidyProtests: Demonstrators topple the gate of the National Assembly
Furious demonstrators have forcefully brought down the entrance gate of the National Assembly in Abuja.
Prior to this, protest leaders from the Organised Labour, including Joe Ajaero from the Nigeria Labour Congress and Festus Osifo from the Trade Union Congress, had requested that security personnel posted at the legislative premises unbar the gates, granting access to the impassioned workers so they could voice their dissatisfaction.
After security officials failed to comply, enraged demonstrators forcefully brought down the gates and flooded into the assembly complex to express their frustration.
