Gunmen fatally shoot two sons of police officers and injure their mother in Jigawa
Unidentified gunmen have fatally shot two sons of police officers and injured the wife in the Malam-Madori local government area of Jigawa State.
Around 2:00 am on Wednesday, a group of approximately twenty gunmen armed with dangerous weapons forcefully entered houses, conducting robberies among the residents.
"They forcefully entered the residence of the former chairman of Jigawa State Consumer Protection, Faroq Abdullahi, and made away with a sum exceeding N1 million."
"They then proceeded to the home of a police officer stationed at Zamfara Police Command, where they fired upon his family."
"Tragically, two of his sons lost their lives immediately, while his wife suffered injuries to her arm and chest, necessitating urgent medical attention at a hospital."
Jigawa State Police Command's Public Relations Officer, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, has officially verified the occurrence.
According to him, the police were alerted to an armed robbery incident at the residence of Maman Biyu situated in the Abuja quarters of Malam-Madori local government.
He elucidated that the incident transpired on Wednesday, when a gang of criminals forcibly entered Maman Biyu's residence, resulting in the tragic demise of two of her sons, 15-year-old Rochard Amos and 15-year-old Cyril Amos, and inflicting injuries upon the mother.
Subsequently, the deceased and the wounded were transported to Hadejia General Hospital, where a medical doctor confirmed their demise.
The police spokesperson affirmed that a vigorous pursuit to apprehend the perpetrators is currently underway.
