PDP's Dino Melaye Accuses SDP and ADC Candidates of Collaborating with APC in Kogi Election

Sen. Dino Melaye's PDP faction has accused SDP's Alhaji Muritala Ajaka and ADC's Elder Leke Abejide of collaborating with the ruling APC in the upcoming Kogi State governorship election. The allegation suggests that both governorship candidates are working towards a third term for the incumbent, Governor Yahaya Bello. The spokesperson for the Dino/Deen youth campaign council of the PDP, David Itopa, made these claims over the weekend, arguing that Ajaka, previously a close ally of Governor Bello, played a role in the intentional impoverishment of Kogi state residents.

Itopa questioned when Ajaka realized that the APC, under Governor Bello, had failed to deliver good governance in Kogi state. He asserted that Governor Bello's leadership was lacking, and Ajaka cannot be absolved of responsibility for it. Furthermore, Itopa claimed that Abejide, the ADC candidate, is aware of his slim chances in the November 11 polls but is attempting to undermine Melaye's candidacy.

Highlighting Abejide's association with the APC, Itopa characterized it as a case of the biblical "voice of Jacob but the hand of Esau." He criticized the hypocrisy of claiming opposition to Bello while openly flaunting APC membership. Itopa urged the people of Kogi state to reflect on the past eight years of APC's governance and resist falling prey to further hardship and suffering under the party's rule.
