Teenagers steal high-tension cable in Osun

Nigeria Hunters and Forest Security Service agents have apprehended two teens, Jelili and Babatunde, for allegedly stealing high-tension electrical line from Arola village in Ede, Osun State.

The suspects were apprehended on Tuesday around 3:30 pm in the jungle in Arola village, according to a security source who told The Nigerianwatch on Wednesday. The source begged to remain anonymous since he was not permitted to provide the information.

He claimed that the perpetrators had successfully severed the electricity cable from nearby high-tension poles and were ready to leave the site before they were apprehended.

According to the source, hunters had been keeping an eye on the suspects' whereabouts before they were apprehended while committing the crime.

"We discovered them inside the bush at 3:30 p.m. The two alleged vandals were taken into custody by Nigeria Hunters and Forest Security Service agents in Ede on Tuesday.

They were apprehended in Ede stealing high-tension wire in the Akoda/Arola neighbourhood. Babatunde has been named as the first suspect, and Akeem as the second. They are both nineteen years old. We have turned them over to NSCDC investigators so they can look into them further.

"We have kept a close eye on the suspects throughout time. The security source stated, "Criminals are using the bush as cover, but we knew the terrain very well, so it was easy for us to lay in the bush and get them."

In response to a message, Kehinde Adeleke, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps spokeswoman in Osun State, stated that the suspects were under the command of the Command.

It's true, she stated. We are in charge of them. The inquiry is moving along nicely. On Thursday, they might appear in court.”
