NIMC releases revised price list for NIN services

The National Identity Management Commission has issued a new price list for its services, which includes revisions to the National Identification Number database.

Correcting the date of birth on the NIN costs ₦28,750 under the revised rates.

Other data alteration services, such as changes to names, addresses, and phone numbers, also updated costs, but they are often lower than those for DOB correction.

This marks a 75% increase above the previously charged N16,340 for the identical service.

Earlier this month, NIMC announced an increase in fees for all of its products and services.

The Commission said that the adjustment comes after more than a decade of using the same pricing structure, and it is intended to align prices with current operational costs and industry norms.

Under the new price system, changes to any field—excluding date of birth, such as name or address—will now incur a fee of N2,000 per transaction.

This represents a 31% increase above the prior charge of N1,522 for similar improvements.

Personal information adjustments (excluding date of birth, such as name or residence) will cost ₦2,000 per transaction starting immediately. This represents a 31% increase over the previous fee of ₦1,522 for such improvements.

According to NIMC, new enrolment in African countries costs $50 for adults and $30 for children. Reissuing a NIN slip in the Diaspora costs $6.

In Africa, correcting the date of birth costs $55, whereas changing all fields other than the date of birth costs $10.

According to NIMC, the fees for regular enrolment services in African countries are as follows: fresh enrolment costs $50 for adults and $30 for children. The Diaspora charges $6 for the re-issuance of the NIN slip.

For data alteration across Africa, altering the date of birth incurs a price of $55, while modifying other information costs $10.
