Katsina Allocates More Than N454.3 Billion for the 2024 Fiscal Year

In KATSINA, the Ministry of Water Resources has been allocated the highest share of N67,161,802,447.39, constituting 20.35% of the total 2024 budget estimate of over N454,308,862,113.39 billion for Katsina State. Alhaji Bello Kagara, the Commissioner for the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, revealed this information during a press briefing on the proposed budget titled "Building Your Future" in Katsina on Monday.

Kagara emphasized that Education received more than N66.4 billion, Works was allocated N53.4 billion, and Health received the sum of N38.3 billion.

Likewise, he mentioned that the Environment received an allocation of N18.6 billion, agriculture N37.7 billion, while other MDAs collectively received over N46.3 billion from the overall budget estimates. The Commissioner further explained that the proposed budget allocates 72.63 percent for capital expenditure and 27.37 percent for recurrent expenditure.

He noted that the proposed budget is significantly larger than the 2023 budget, with an increase of N153,675,604,150.96, representing a growth of 51.11 percent.

It is worth noting that Governor Dikko Umaru Radda had previously presented the budget proposals to the State House of Assembly without the customary annual public presentation.
