EX-NNPCL boss in EFCC net over corruption allegations – Report
Mele Kyari, the former Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd, has been detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on suspicions of fund mismanagement and abuse of power, according to The Cable.Kyari, along with numerous senior NNPC executives who were recently removed from their roles, are currently being questioned at the EFCC facility.
The incarceration, which began on Friday, is anticipated to last through the weekend while the anti-graft agency investigates the suspected financial irregularities.
While EFCC authorities have remained tight-lipped, a leaked letter addressed to Bayo Ojulari, the newly appointed GCEO of NNPC, has gone viral on social media, stoking suspicion about the inquiry.
