Church Member Murders Pentecostal Pastor with Machete.

A suspected church member has tragically taken the life of Pentecostal pastor Pastor Greg Sagie in his own home. The incident unfolded in Sapele, Delta State, on Thursday when the suspect attacked Pastor Sagie with a machete.

The 60-year-old clergyman was resting in his bedroom at the MTN Road pipeline area when the assailant forcibly entered his flat and frightened his two children, aged eight and 11, who were in the living room.

The terrified children fled the house and raised the alarm for help. According to a source who assisted in taking Pastor Sagie's body to the mortuary and a neighbor, the area was quite isolated with only a few houses.

They heard the children screaming that someone was inside and attacking their father with a machete. The source reported, "We rushed out and saw the attacker, a young man in his 20s. He threatened us, saying he would kill us if we attempted to climb the two-story building to confront him. Then, he jumped from the second story and fled."

The source also mentioned that the children recognized the attacker as a member of their church. "The children informed us that he was a fellow member of their church and that they could identify him. They even described where he lived," the source said.

Pastor Sagie suffered severe head injuries and unfortunately passed away on the way to the hospital. Another neighbor named Isaac added, "He took his last breath on the way to the hospital after his car broke down."
