Christ Embassy will build bigger church, says Oyakhilome

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, the founder and president of LoveWorld Incorporated, also known as Christ Embassy, has stated that the fire at the church's main office was not an accident but rather a chance for greater and better things.

At the church's campsite in Asese, Ogun State, he made this statement during a live Sunday service.

On Sunday morning, there was a fire at the church headquarters, which is situated in the Oregun neighbourhood of Ikeja, Lagos State.

Several videos from the scene that were posted on X.com on Sunday made this clear.

"Nothing happens in the life of a child of God by accident," Oyakhilome stated, discussing the occurrence. The structure vibrated so badly during the Ikeja Cantonment bombing incident in 2001 that we thought it might collapse.

"I promised myself that I would build a bigger, better one if it collapsed." In the end, it held up well, and when we contacted the engineers to inquire about the possibility of demolishing and rebuilding, they said there was no need.

"The devil will lick his wounds and we will build a bigger, better, and more glorious one now that this has happened."

It's also said that Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service representatives are on the scene trying to stabilise the situation.

Tweeting under the handle Chief Augustin1 on X.com, Augustine shared a video from the scene and stated, "Christ Embassy Church on Billings Way, Oregun, is on fire."

Men from the Lagos State Fire Service are putting out a serious fire by working nonstop. Thank God, service hasn't started in its entirety.
