Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum, expresses profound grief over the passing of his spokesperson, Isa Gusau.

A government release from the state Commissioner for Information and Internal Security, Prof. Usman Tar, confirms that Gusau succumbed to a prolonged illness on Thursday at an Indian hospital.

In the statement, Governor Zulum fondly remembers the late Gusau as a committed public servant and an esteemed member of his team.

Gusau, who held the position of Special Adviser on Public Relations and Strategy to Governor Zulum since June 2019, had previously served in the same capacity under Senator Kashim Shettima during his tenure as the state governor.

"Mallam Isa Gusau earned admiration from all for his unwavering commitment to the people of Borno State and his exemplary professionalism in his role.

“He tirelessly championed for the state and dedicated himself to effectively communicating the government’s initiatives and policies to the public with clarity and transparency,” quoted Zulum in the statement.

The governor further remarked, “Isa Gusau will be commemorated for his zeal in serving the people of Borno State and his steadfast dedication to the state's improvement. His exceptional communication skills played a pivotal role in fostering understanding and cooperation between the government and the people.”
