Bobrisky has been sentenced to six months in prison by the court

In a verdict delivered on Friday, Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos sentenced the controversial cross-dresser, Idris Olanrewaju Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, to six months in prison without the option of a fine for defacing the Naira.

The judge emphasized that this ruling serves as a warning to anyone engaging in similar acts of Naira abuse and tampering.

Before the sentencing, the judge inquired about Bobrisky's gender, to which he promptly responded that he is male.

The judge ordered that the prison term would begin from March 24, 2024, the day of Bobrisky's arrest.
