Teni Shares Ordeal with Life-Threatening Infection

Nigerian singer Teni, also known as Teniola Apata, recently revealed a challenging health journey in an Instagram post. In July 2023, while working on her second album, "Tears of the Sun," she faced a life-threatening throat infection that led to temporary voice loss. Teni shared that her doctors recommended surgery to prevent permanent damage to her voice.

Acknowledging the severity of the situation, the 'Uyo Me Yo' artist disclosed that she was hospitalized in September 2023 due to exhaustion. During her hospitalization, she received multiple injectables over five days.

However, Teni expressed gratitude for her recovery, emphasizing that she managed to regain her singing voice without undergoing the initially suggested surgery. By November 2023, she triumphantly returned to the stage and announced her new single, "Malaika," as a song of praise and thanksgiving for God's mercy and grace during her health challenges.
